In the Who has the best work life balance in Australia, survey respondents defined a good work-life balance as having the flexibility to structure work hours and location, work that doesn’t disrupt home life, ability to time-bank and absence of overtime.
The report found the following industries were rated highest for work-life balance.
- Human Resources
71 per cent of human resource employees are happy with their work-life balance.
- Real Estate & Property
67 per cent of real estate and property agents are happy with their work-life balance.
- Consulting & Strategy
66 per cent in consulting and strategy fields are happy with work-life balance.
- Marketing & Communications
66 per cent of marketing and communications professionals are happy with work-life balance.
- Insurance & Superannuation
66 per cent in insurance and superannuation industries are happy with work-life balance.
The report also found that an overwhelming 92 per cent of Australians say work-life balance is so important that it would influence their decision to change jobs. In fact, the survey of 3,000 people, discovered more than one in two Australians have changed jobs to find work-life balance with most (70 per cent) finding it.
