The Certificate of Addiction Support – Drugs and Alcohol will prepare you for work in the alcohol and drugs sector, where you will learn how to work effectively with clients with complex dependence issues. You will explore the theories of addictive behaviours and the practical and social issues of substance and alcohol abuse.
This professional development program will also help you understand the major theories of addiction and the models of treatment available for addictive behaviours. You will also develop strategies for alcohol and other drugs relapse prevention and management and learn to provide services to people with coexisting mental health conditions.
On completion of this course, you will feel confident to apply a range of intervention strategies and undertake effective case management to support those suffering from addiction.
